Class of 2025 -- Blog #3 -- GIVE THANKS

Well, it's hard to believe, but Thanksgiving break is only a few weeks away.  The semester is quickly passing, and it will be over before you know it.

I LOVE THANKSGIVING!  I think too many times, we rush through this holiday, in order to get to Christmas.  That bothers me because I think too many of us forget to be thankful.  We simply take our blessings for granted, and I think that is sad.

Thanksgiving is about stopping (at least for a moment), and thanking God for the blessings that He gives to us.  We live in a country that is free.  We live in beautiful houses.  We have food in our pantry.  We have a car in the garage. We have parents and grandparents that take care of us.  Someone may be sacrificing to make sure we are getting a Christian education at Goodpasture.    Although, those things are "second nature" to most of us, those things are blessings.

So, just stop for a moment, and think of ONE (yes, only one!) thing for which you are thankful this year.  What is your biggest blessing?  Why is that so important to you?

Mine would be my family.  They are my life, and they are God's biggest blessing to me -- every day and in every way.

Answer in FIVE (5) complete sentences for FIVE (5) extra credit points.  This blog will close on Friday, 11/20 at midnight!

So, get ready for turkey, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie!  But don't forget to thank God for those blessings!  Write on!

  1. One thing I am thankful for this year is meeting all of my friends. I met all of my friends over the summer and I have no idea how I lived without them. They have brought me so much joy and helped me through so much this year. They have truly been a blessing to me. There have been many ups and downs this year, but when I met them I knew this year would end up being amazing. So many things in my life have changed because of them, and if I could go back in time I wouldn’t change a thing.

  2. I am thankful for lots of things. One of the most important things that I am thankful for is being close with my healthy and kind family. So many people have lost their family to sickness and other ways . I am blessed with a healthy family. I am also blessed with a kind family. Some people have a family that fights, or are toxic. God gave me a lot to be thankful for.

They have helped me, been with me every step of the way, taught me things, and they’ve helped me become a better person. 17. Of all things I am thankful for, this year has showed me that I am most thankful for my friends. We often take friendships for granted. When we could not get out of the house, I did not realize how much I need them. Family is important, but realistically, in our week, we spend more time with friends. My friends have gotten me through so much, and I am beyond thankful to have them in my life.

  30. I am thankful for my friends this year. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family, but my friends have supported me through all of my hardships. They make me laugh when I’m not at my best, and they make sure I don’t get run over by cars (long story). Living in Tennessee has been an experience, to say the least. They’ve all helped me more than they could know :).

My parents also make sure that I’m always feeling good, and they do that by providing a roof over my head. My brothers on the other hand make me laugh, play with me, and have experience for whatever hard times I’m going through because that were once in my shoes. My family will always be there for me when I’m sad or when I need something. That’s why I am most thankful for my family.
