The ceremony of the Homecoming parade and pep rally sets the stage on Friday afternoon, for the exciting events of the evening.
Of course, no Goodpasture Homecoming would be complete without high school floats and upper middle school cart floats. Students, parents and teachers spend a great deal of time on creating these beautiful masterpieces, united by a common theme for the year.
The crowning of the beautiful, homecoming queen and her court is a special tradition of the evening, as well. Finally, hopes are always high that the football team will end the evening with a huge victory over the rival team!

ReplyDeleteHomecoming to me is more of a high school thing than a middle school thing. It can still be enjoyable though. I think homecoming will be fun this year because we get to create floats. I believe homecoming will become more fun and special in high school because of homecoming king & queen and other fun stuff that we’ll get to do.
Homecoming is where a school gets together and watch a specific sport. Mainly football, and it is supposed to be an easy game to enjoy. People build floats and have parades and it is always fun for a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteHomecoming to me is when the entire school participates in different activities to bring together a night that represents our school. I am very excited about homecoming this year because I get to help with the eighth grade floats, sophomore floats, and the junior floats. I think homecoming will become more special in high school because we will get the chance to do our own floats instead of shopping cart floats. We also will have the chance to be on homecoming court and/or be in the parade.

I get so excited for the pep rally and the parade. I do think that homecoming will become more important in years to come as we will be participating in our own floats instead of shopping carts. We will have a lot more responsibility and could be able to be in the parade if desired.

I definitly think it will be more important in the years to come. We will get to make our own floats, have the opportunity to be in the parade, and have the chance to be on the homecoming court.

I think it is more special to me. I think that because I am helping so much more for our 8th grade cart then last year.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first year I have been at Goodpasture and I already love floats and spending time doing it. We have a parade for floats. This is all taking place on homecoming week. We show our float during half time of the game.

ReplyDeleteTo me, Homecoming means traditions. It is a time to hang out with friends and create floats. We get to come together for a parade and a big game. It is a fun time, and I am excited to work on the bigger floats when we are sophomores.

ReplyDeleteHomecoming to me is the tradition of being coming together as a class and making a shopping cart or a float. On that Friday tho it is very hectic because you have the parade and the pep rally. This year I was in the pep rally , and it was so fun. Friday night we had the homecoming ceremony and the game. They goodpasture cougars lost.
